Bandits have abducted more than 300 students from Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, in Zamfara state.
This is coming less than two weeks after the abduction of 27 students from Government Science College, Kagara in Niger State. The Niger state students are yet to be released.
The police authorities in Zamfara state are yet to react to the incident.
Some parents of the students said the girls were taken away from the school in the wee hours of Friday.
Abubakar Jangebe told 21st Century Chronicle that two of his younger brothers’ daughters have been taken away.
”I just spoke with my younger brother now. He confirmed to me that two of his daughters were among those taken away,” Jangebe said.
He said “there’s confusion and apprehension in the school now and the town. Many people have stormed the forest now searching for the girls. Nobody can tell exactly how many of them were taken away.”
