President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday held a closed door meeting with Governor of Benue State Samuel Ortom at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Ortom was on Saturday attacked by gunmen when he was returning from his farm in Tyomu community along Makurdi-Gboko highway.
The attack was condemned by governors and different groups in the country.
After the attack, the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu ordered the state Commissioner of Police to beef up the security around the governor, and also deployed investigators to the state.
