An Aero Contractors aircraft was forced to make an air return, a few minutes after takeoff from the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano following a bird strike.
The development left many passengers of the Lagos-bound aircraft stranded.
The pilot was forced to return to base following an unusual sound from the engine after the aircraft had taken off.
It was discovered after landing that a bird strike cracked the engine propeller resulting in the noise.
The airline said its pilot took a safety decision.
“Aero Contractors regrets the inconveniences suffered by our passengers on flight N2142 which occurred this morning on March 21, 2021, on the Kano to Lagos flight due to a bird strike on the engine while taking off,” the airline said.
