Bauchi State Govermor, Bala Mohammed, has approved the suspension, with immediate effect, of the Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abubakar Babangida Tafida.
Spokesperson to the governor, Mukhtar Gidado, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday night, but refused to give details.
He said the suspension was communicated to Tafida in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, and dated the September 14, 2021.
“The suspended Executive Secretary was directed to hand over the affairs of the board to the most senior officer in the board pending the outcome of an investigation that has been instituted by government into the affairs of the board,” the statement said.
