At least 10 people have been killed and many others wounded when bandits launched an attack on Yasore village, a community near Batsari town, headquarter of Batsari local government area of Katsina State.
The gunmen also burnt several houses and shops during the attack on Tuesday.
A resident of the community, Harisu Hamza, told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that the attackers came on motorcycles and started shooting sporadically.
He said a combined team of policemen, vigilantes and soldiers arrived in the community after the bandits had left.
It was gathered that some of the wounded have been admitted at a General Hospital in Katsina.
Spokesperson of the state police command, Gambo Isa, said he was in a meeting when our reporter reached out to confirm the incident.
