Five vigilante members have been killed and their vehicle set ablaze by bandits along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that the attack took place at Unguwar Yako area at about 5:30 pm on Tuesday.
A resident of the area, Imam Husaini Udawa, confirmed the incident. He said the victims were ambushed by the bandits on their way back from Kaduna town.
Udawa said three of the vigilantes escaped the attack and had returned home safely.
Imam said the community recovered the five bodies from the bush on Wednesday morning and buried them at Udawa town in Chikun local government area of Kaduna State.
The spokesperson of the state Police Command, Jalige Mohammed, didn’t answer calls put across to his mobile number.
