Bandits have abducted 35 people, injured one person and rustled several cows during an attack on Chiri Boda and Fuka in Shiroro local government area of Niger State.
Chairman, Niger Concern Citizens, Muhammad Awaisu Wana, disclosed this in Minna, the state capital.
He said hundreds of residents have fled the village after the attack Saturday evening.
Wana said 10 out of 15 wards in the local government area were under the control of bandits.
He also said eight out of the wards under the control of bandits are in riverine areas.
Wana appealed to the Federal Government to come to their aid to enable them return home and prepare for farm this season.
The state police command has not responded to the incident.
