The bandits who kidnapped Qur’anic students in Sokoto state have demanded N20 million before releasing them.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE reports that the 16 students were abducted by bandits who raided Gidan Bakuso village in Gada local government area in the early hours of Saturday.
The owner of the school, Liman Abubakar, told this newspaper that the bandits called him and requested N20 million for the students to be freed.
“They called me this morning around some minutes past 11am and directed me to meet our village head and tell him to raise N20 million for the children.
“I went and discussed the matter with the village head but we are yet to reach a conclusion,” he said.
