Bandits on Thursday killed one person and abducted another when they attacked the Saketa-Dingyadi community in Sokoto State.
The gunmen also abducted three students in Runka village in Safana local government area of Katsina state.
Residents told BBC Hausa that the students were on their way back from school when they were waylaid by their captors.
A resident of the Dingyadi community, Hamadani Buba, said the gunmen attacked the community early Thursday morning. He identified the deceased person as Bello Magaji.
“The bandits attacked our village and killed our brother in-law, Bello Magaji at Saketa-Dingyadi, and abducted our aged mother in-law,” Buba said.
“Kindly include our people to your prayers. The rampant attacks in our Dingyadi and surrounding villages are too worrisome and unfortunate,” he said.
