The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) has banned its members from dialogue with any criminal group.
The National Secretary of the association Baba Ngelzarma disclosed this in Abuja Tuesday after the National Executive Council meeting of the group.
He said the state chapters have been directed to cooperate fully with the security agencies in their effort to address security challenges facing the country.
Ngelzarma did not specify which criminal gangs MACBAN was referring to, however, most cattle rearers are found on both sides of the devides belonging to either MACBAN or bandits who have been unleashing attacks in some parts of the north.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE reports that dialogue has been one of the means through which governments in the Northwest had deployed to dissuade the bandits from killing people, kidnappings and cattle rustling.
But dialogue has, however failed to resolve or stopped banditry and other forms of criminalities, thus forcing state governments such as Kaduna, Zamfara, Sokoto and Katsina to withdraw from dialoguing with bandits.
Meanwhile, MACBAN has appointed Hussaini Bosso as acting national president.
