As academic activities commence on Monday, the authorities of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, have assured students and staff of adequate security.
The Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the institution, Mallam Ashiru Zango, said Saturday that measures were in place to address the disturbing issue of kidnapping in the university.
In November 2020 the university experienced disturbing incidences of abduction. However, on January 20, 2021 Nigeria Police paraded a 4-man kidnapping gang who were allegedly terrorising residents of the university.
Zango said the security division has set up plans to contend with security challenges within and outside the campuses as the school reopens.
