Ayra Starr suffered a fall on stage in Ghana while performing at Afrochella on December 28.
The Mavin signee, was performing at the event which celebrates Africa’s culture and the work of African creatives and entrepreneurs when she tripped and fell.
Despite the fall, Starr who is known for her energetic and engaging demonstrated her stage presence continued her performance without missing a beat.
She however, took to Twitter to share her experience and urged the event organizers to be more diligent in cleaning the stage after each performer.
She stated that the fall was “unnecessary and painful,” and that similar accidents could be avoided by ensuring the stage is clean.
Afrochella is known for its energetic performances and diverse lineup of artists.
The fall seemed to be a minor hiccup as it did not significantly impact her performance or the enjoyment of the audience.
The incident serves as a reminder for event organizers to prioritize the safety and comfort of their performers, and for all performers to remain resilient and adaptable in the face of unexpected challenges.
This year’s theme was “Afrofuturism.”
