A professional footballer, Jacob Wisdom Chukwuemeka, has been sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for internet fraud.
Justice Muhammed Sani of the Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin convicted and sentenced him for offences bordering on internet fraud and possession of fraudulent funds, on Monday.
Chukwuemeka, who was arraigned by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC, was convicted after pleading guilty to two-count charges bordering on possession of fraudulent funds.
