The much anticipated movie ‘Coming 2 America’ which was slated for release exclusively on Amazon Prime will also be in Nigerian cinemas on March 5, 2021.
The movie is a sequel of the 1988 coming to America by Eddie Murphy.
The comedy was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. It stars Eddie Murphy (who reprises his role as Prince Akeem), Arsenio Hall, Wesley Snipes, James Earl Jones, Tracy Morgan, Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, Sharo Headley and Teyana Taylor.
This sequel follows former Prince Akeem Joffer (Eddie Murphy) as he is set to become King of Zamunda.
He discovers he has a son he never knew about in America – a street savvy Queens’ native named Lavelle (Jermaine Fowler). Honoring his royal father’s (James Earl Jones) dying wish to groom this son as the crown prince, Akeem and Semmi (Arsenio Hall) set off to America once again.
Originally to be released by Paramount Pictures, the film’s distribution rights were sold to Amazon Studios due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Amazon is set to release it digitally on Prime Video on March 5, 2021.
The movie will premiere on the same day in Nigerian Cinemas.
