Famous Kannywood actor Tanimu Akawu has apologized to veteran Kannywood, actor Abdullahi Shuaibu (Kalkuzu) for lying against him and his family during a recent interview.

It can be recalled that Mr Akawu during an interview on Hadiza Gabon’s Talk Show made a derogatory statement against Kalkuzu who is battling an ailment and his children.

Mr Akawu also claimed that he was delegated to hand over food stuff of about N400, 000 to Kalkuzu as his children couldn’t take care of their ailing father.

This development had generated a serious debate on social media that the reaction compelled Kalkuzu to come out and denied Akawu’s allegations. Kalkuzu who is currently blind, said he had not received anything from Akawu and that the claim that his children are not productive and couldn’t take care of him were all false.

However, one of Kalkuzu’s sons also came out to dispute the claims made by Akawu and threatened to take legal action against the actor for dragging Kalkuzu’s family name in the mud.

Moreover, Akawu in a viral video, came out to apologize to Kalkuzu and his family claiming that he was ill-informed and admitting that he didn’t do a thorough investigation before he went public with the information.

“I want to use this opportunity to apologize to Baba Kalkuzu and his family for the claims I made during the Gabon Talk Show, I was ill-informed. I pray they will find a place in their hearts to forgive me. I also want to urge all my fans to assist me in begging the family of Kalkuzu for forgiveness. I will go back to the Gabon Talk Show to correct the mistakes I made. Thank you,” Akawu said.
