Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) on Tuesday said it has received 1,602 complaints and recovered N450 million from July 2021 to date.
This was disclosed by the acting Chairman of the commission, Mr Mahmoud Balarabe, at a news conference in Kano on Tuesday.
He said the commission received 1,602 complaints from families, individuals and corporate bodies within the period under review.
He said that 253 cases had been concluded while 1,349 others were pending.
The chairman said the commission recovered N450 million cash for complainants, while landed properties, valuable items and some vehicles belonging to Open Government Partnership (OGP).
He said the commission also made modest achievements in instituting good administrative structure, improved staff welfare and amendment of PCACC law within the period under review.
He said, “We also restored public service confidence in reporting their complaints.
“In July 2021, we received between 30 and 35 complaints daily, which has increased to over 60 to 65 in a month, people now prefer to report their complaints to the commission,” he said.
