Governors of the 36 states of the federation have agreed to support the dedication of portions of the Excess Crude Account and the Natural Resource Development Fund and the Economic Stabilization Fund to provide the necessary equipment for the military and other security institutions.
Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) Governor Kayode Fayemi disclosed this to newsmen Thursday morning shortly after the end of their meeting in Aso Rock, Abuja.
Fayemi said they agreed to extend the support to immediately address the impunity associated with all of the crimes and criminality facing the country.
The governors, the communique said, reviewed the challenges in resourcing the nation’s military institutions, adding that with the appointment of new service chiefs, they expect a new security architecture from them.
