One week after 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE’s investigative story on how absence of permanent secretaries and chief executives slowed down governance in Sokoto State, Governor Aminu Tambuwal has appointed four perm secs and five directors general.
On September 27, this newspaper reported how absence of 13 perm secs and five CEOs in key ministries and agencies was slowing activities in the state.
Investigations by 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE have shown that most of these ministries have been without substantive permanent secretaries for more than two years even though the majority of them are strategic.
However, a statement on Tuesday by Tambuwal’s spokesperson, Muhammad Bello, said the governor has appointed four perm secs and five CEOs.
He said the new perm secs and DGs would be sworn in on Wednesday at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House by 12:30pm.
The new Permanent Secretaries are Abubakar Haliru Dikko, Abubakar Usman Junaidu, Abdullahi Saidu Bafarawa and Abubakar Yusuf Sanyinna.
The new DGs are Ibrahim Umar Gatawa, Kulu Nuhu, Isma’ila Abubakar Ill, Malami Umar Tambuwal and Dr. Sa’adu Hassan Isma’ila.
