A member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ismail Danbaba, his driver and two others have been kidnapped by gunmen along Akwanga-Jos road in Sanga local government area of Kaduna State.
The Chairman, Nasarawa State House of Assembly’s Committee on Information, Mohammed Omadefu, confirmed the incident in Lafia on Sunday.
He said the lawmakers, who represents Nasarawa Central State Constituency, and other occupants were abducted Saturday evening.
He said the lawmaker was ambushed and taken to a yet to be known away to destination with his driver and two others in the vehicle.
Omadefu said the abductors had already contacted the House but were yet to make demands.
The spokesperson, Nasarawa State Police Command, Ramhman Nansel, he said the incident happned outside his jurisdiction.
