Bandits on Saturday killed one teacher and abducted three women at Government Secondary School, Raka in Tsafe local government area of Zamfara state.
According to asource, the attackers invaded the school around 8pm in police uniform, shooting sporadically.
A teacher in the school confided in 21st Century that, among the abducted women was the wife of the deceased.
“This school was never attacked in the past. The bandits accessed the school premises through the back fence.
“They destroyed part of the fence to gain access into the school and they used the same rout to escape after their attack,” he said
Another source said that, slain teacher, Kabiru Abdullahi was killed because he resisted abduction.
“They asked him to follow them, he resisted and even confronted one of the bandits and knocked him down.
“That was why the shot him and went away with his wife,” the source said
The source added that, the bandits wore police uniforms and some of them waited behind the fence, believing it was one of them that shot and killed Malam Abdullahi.
The abducted women he said were wives of their staff as the school was deboarding because of insecurity.
The Public Relation Officer of the Zamfara state Police Command, DSP Yazid Abubakar however, said he was not yet briefed bout the attack by the Tsafe Divisional Officer.
