The Osun State Police Command says the three Chinese miners kidnapped at Akere village near Ifewara in Atakumosa West local government area of the state have been released.
The command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the development on Tuesday said the miners were released by their abductors on Sunday.
Opalola said that the abductors set them free when they realized that the police were closing in on them.
The Chinese miners were abducted on Monday, February 1, 2020, by the labourers they hired at their mining site.
Their abductors killed a policeman attached to the expatriates before abducting them.
Their abductor had demanded N500m ransom for their release.

The police said no arrest had been made in connection with the incident.
