Brother of Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Dr Kaumi Zulum, has emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for the Dikwa, Konduga, Mafa Federal Constituency in Borno state.

The Returning Officer and the Chairman, Primary Election Committee, Prophet Jones Erue, said at a news conference on Sunday in Maiduguri that Zulum emerged as the winner during the primary election unopposed.

The returning officer also announced Fati Alkali, the winner and returned her as APC candidate for Mobbar, Guzama, Abadam and Kukawa federal constituency.

Erue also declared Usman Zana the winner and returned him as the APC candidate for Magumeri Kaga/Gubio federal constituency.

He also declared Ahmed Jaha, the winner and returned him as the APC candidate for Gwoza/Chibok/Dambua federal constituency.

The returning officer also declared Satomi Ahmed the winner and returned him to the APC candidate for Jere federal constituency.

Erue declared Abdulkadir Rahis, the winner and returned him as the APC candidate for the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council federal constituency after scoring 38,576 votes at the primary election.

He also announced Mustapha Abdullahi, the winner and returned him as the APC candidate for Bama Ngala/Kala Balge federal constituency after scoring 20,509 votes at the primary election.

The returning officer, however, declared the Askira/Uba/ Hawul federal constituency primary election as inconclusive.

Erue said the Askira/Uba/Hawul Federal Constituency was declared inconclusive following a complaint which was filed by one of the aspirants, Mr Audu Zali.

He said his committee had decided to
Wait for the report of the Appeals Committee before the results are announced.

Erue said the House of Representatives primary elections were successfully conducted and concluded across nine out of 10 federal constituencies in a peaceful, transparent, orderly, and highly commendable manner.

He, however, expressed happiness that party members had demonstrated unity, maturity, discipline, and unwavering commitment throughout the exercise.

The returning officer said his committee carried out its assignment in strict compliance with Sections 84, 86, and 87 of the Electoral Act, Article 20 of the Party Constitution, the approved Guidelines, and all prescribed procedures of the APC.

The returning officer said the candidates for the House of Representatives elections emerged predominantly through
affirmation and unanimous consensus arrangements freely and amicably adopted by
stakeholders and party delegates without rancour, dispute, protest, or objection, including instances involving single unopposed candidates.

Erue said direct primary elections were successfully conducted in only two federal Constituencies, Bama Ngala/Kala Balge and Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC) respectively.

He said the process was and judged to be free, fair, credible, transparent, peaceful, and generally acceptable by all.
