Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno State on Saturday began the construction of the N7.9billion West End Maiduguri flyover which is expected to be completed in one year.
Zulum said the execution of the project was in fulfillment of his campaign promises to the electorate.
“The government is committed to uplifting and upgrading facilities within the city; we have done two flyovers and this will be the third.
“This flyover will not only add to the aesthetic beauty of the city, but it will also help to reduce vehicular traffic and create job opportunities for many youths,” he said.
Zulum urged the contractor to execute the project within the time frame agreed, saying that the government would not entertain any variation.
