The Kaduna State Police Command on Saturday said its men have successfully arrested a suspect linked to the killing of five people during a bandit attack in Zaria.
The command spokesman, ASP Mansir Hassan, disclosed this via a WhatsApp message while reacting to the Friday attack on the ancient city sent to 21st Century on Saturday.
According to him, the command had also rescued the kidnapped victims.
21st Century had earlier reported that the bandits attacked Unguwar Dankali under the Danmagaji area of the ancient city around 10:00 pm Friday night.
During the operation, the attackers opened fire on the residents sighted at a joint, killing five instantly and injuring six others who are said to be in critical condition.
It was also gathered that six persons were abducted, mostly housewives, during the operation which the police said has been rescued.
ASP Mansir Hassan’s message reads, “The command has successfully rescued the kidnapped victims and arrested one of the suspects,” he simply said.
