A Federal High Court sitting in Gusau has adjourned the suit challenging the emergence of Mr Dauda Lawal as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Zamfara state.
Justice Aminu Bappa-Aliyu adjourned the case to July 26 to hear arguments in the preliminary objection.
The PDP governorship primary in the state was held on May 25 and produced Mr Dauda Lawal as the party governorship candidate for the 2023 general elections in the state.
However, Dr Ibrahim Shehu-Gusau, a PDP governorship aspirant, is seeking the nullification of the primary election over alleged irregularities.
Alhaji Adamu Maina-Waziri led the committee from the PDP National Headquarters Abuja that conducted the primaries.
The defendants are the PDP, Maina-Waziri, and retired Col. Bala Mande (PDP state chairman), Dauda Lawal Dare, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
