Wife of Zamfara governor, Hajiya Huriyya Lawal, on Thursday commended the Federal Government for distributing food to vulnerable residents in the state.
Mrs Lawal, speaking at the distribution event in Gusau, said the initiative had uplifted communities and restored hope among vulnerable groups.
She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the welfare of women, children and other vulnerable residents across the state.
She also appreciated Northern Governors’ wives for their solidarity at the event, highlighting the importance of regional cooperation.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, distributed food items to 600 vulnerable families, mainly women, under the Renewed Hope Initiative.
Mrs Tinubu, represented by the Vice President’s wife, Hajiya Nana Shettima, said the initiative was designed to improve citizens’ welfare and social development.
The First Lady added that the statewide distribution programme would continue across all 36 states of the federation.
Meanwhile, Gov. Dauda Lawal said the Federal Government’s food outreach aligned with his administration’s welfare programme.
