Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has sacked his politics adviser, Sunusi Surajo Kwankwaso, and replaced him with former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s aide hours after his defection from the NNPP.
The sacked politics adviser is a prominent ally of former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, the erstwhile godfather of Governor Yusuf.
Governor Yusuf has replaced Kwankwaso with Mustapha Bakwana, a strong ally of Mr Ganduje.
The change was made public by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, via a post on his verified Facebook page.
However, Mr Kwankwaso, a prominent supporter of the Kwankwasiyya movement, had earlier declared his resignation in a video posted on social media.
This change was considered significant as Governor Yusuf tilts towards Mr Ganduje ahead of his official declaration for the APC.
