Youths protested at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday as over the continued detention of blogger Justice Crack.
The protesters formed a human blockade as operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), moved to escort the influencer out of the court following his arraignment.
The youths repeatedly shouted “free Justice Crack,” as they demanded his immediate release and described his detention as unjust.
The protesters also demanded that “we want to see the minister! (Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation). Call the minister! Let him come out! Protest is a fundamental human right!”
Some of the demonstrators urged Abuja residents to join them at the Ministry of Justice.
A protester said “everybody please come to the Ministry of Justice, we need you Nigerians. They said Justice’s next court date is May 26, which means he will remain there for one month. Please help us and come out if you’re in Abuja.”
Sahara reporters publisher Omoyele Sowore and Peter Akah were among the crowd in demanding Justice Crack’s release.
