A Confederation of African Football (CAF) doctor died at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday night after Super Eagles defeat to the Black Stars of Ghana.
Dr. Joseph Kabungo was identified as the CAF official that died. He served as a doping doctor for CAF and was confirmed dead following a stampede that occurred after Nigeria lost to Ghana in a world cup qualifiers Match.
Kabungo reportedly lost consciousness after he was stepped on as unhappy Super Eagles fans tried to exit the stadium.
The chaos at the stadium was due to the Super Eagles failure to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
