Workers of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) have shut down the head office of the service in Abuja, to protest the appointment of Tola Odeyemi as Chief Executive Officer/Post Master General.
President Bola Tinubu last week announced new appointments through his spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale which affected NIPOST among other Federal Government agencies.
But the news of Odeyemi’s appointment was however trailed by the reinstatement of the sacked Adeyemi Adepoju as the sacked PostMaster-General had been reinstated.
Adepoju told some workers that Tinubu had returned him to his position.
But the protesting workers blocked the newly appointed NIPOST CEO from entering office, saying they reject her appointment.
The workers, who said they preferred Adepoju, chanted solidarity songs and wielded placards.
