The Netherlands had qualified for the knockout stage of Tokyo Olympics with 8-2 wins over China PR, finishing top of Group F.
S. van de Sanden scored the first goal for Netherlands 12 minutes into the game with a right-footed shot from the right side of the box to the bottom right corner, assisted by Jackie Groenen.
L. Beerensteyn doubled the lead 37 minutes and later added to her tally to make the scoreline 3-0 before halftime with a right footed shot from the left side of the box to the bottom right corner.
L. Martens continued the onslaught for Netherlands two minutes into the second half when she met Kika Vans cross with a header from the centre of the box to the top left corner to increase Netherland lead to four.
V. Miedema scored the fifth goal for Netherland with a left-footed shot from the centre of the box to the centre of the goal.
L. Martens added to her tally to make it six in 70 minutes of the game with a right-footed shot from the centre of the box to the centre of the goal.
V. Pelova increased the lead just one minute later with a right footed shot from outside the box to the centre of the goal to make it 7.
Five minutes later V. Miedema put the icing on the cake with a right footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner to make it 8.
China PR was able to score two goals but was not even nearly enough to salvage anything for them as they exit the Olympics without a win.
In the other game played on Tuesday, Brazil qualified for the knockout stage of the competition with 1-0 win over 10 women Zambia who finished third in the group with an outstanding performance in its first-ever Olympic women football.
Great Britain also qualified for the knockout stage for group E as it drew 1-1 with Canada who also qualified.
Chile and Japan are out of the tournament despite Chile losing 1-0 to Japan from the group matches played in group E.
