A woman on her way to Gadabuke market at Dazhi village in Kuje Area Council of the FCT has been killed by unknown gunmen.
Gadabuke is one of the border communities between Kuje Area Council of the FCT and Zangabutu in Toto LGA of Nasarawa State.
A local of Dazhi village, Danlami Yakubu, revealed that the woman was murdered on Tuesday, adding that her killers stabbed the woman in the neck, took her phone and then fled.
Yakubu said some villagers later discovered the woman’s corpse and reported the incident to the police at Gadabuke, adding that the police went to the scene where the corpse of the woman was found lying inside the bush by the roadside.
The Chairman of Toto LGA, Alhaji Ahmed Baba Yahaya, who confirmed the incident on Thursday, said he has ordered the security operatives to find those who killed the woman.
Alhaji Yahaya has advised members of the community to cooperate with the security agents by sharing useful information that would aid them in fishing out those behind such an act.
He condoled with the family of the deceased and expressed his administration’s determination to protect the lives and property of all residents of the council.
An anonymous police officer at the Gadabuke division, confirmed the incident, saying the police are already investigating the matter.
