The Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has declared that the faction loyal to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike does not exist and is not recognized by law.
Governor Mohammed, in company of his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde, the new national Chairman, Tanimu Turaki (SAN) and new National Secretary, Taofeek Arapaja spoke from the Wadata National Secretariat Tuesday afternoon after an earlier clash by both factions at the premises of the PDP secretariat.
He said all the PDP governors were with him at the secretariat as at the time of he was speaking.
Defending the legality of the Ibadan which produced the Turaki-led national Working Committee, Governor Mohammed said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was notified about the convention, adding that “they accepted the notification.”
He said if the commission did not come to monitor and supervise the convention, the right thing was done that the official notification sent to them which it accepted.
The governor said the party went ahead with the convention after a verdict by Oyo State High Court override any subsisting court order and litigations that sought to stop the convention.
He said “our convention is legal. We have obtained clearance from a court in Oyo overriding any court case.”
Governor Mohammed described the other faction as a one-man creation. “it’s a one-man creation by Wike,” he said.
The Ibadan convention at the weekend expelled Wike, former Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose, National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Bature, Adeyemi Ajibade, SAN, Mohammed Abdulrahman, Mao Ohuabunwa, Austin Nwachukwu, George Turner, Abraham Amali and Dan Orbi
He accused the FCT Minister of destroying the PDP, saying “Wike said he would be in the All Progressives Congress (APC) to destroy us.”
“Is it morally right that he will be in the APC to destroy us. Is it morally right if he said he would destroy the PDP?” the governor asked and said Wike was being arrogant.
