The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB) has attributed the delay in the payment of February salaries to some teachers to technical hitches.
This is contained in a statement by Ahmed Sani, Head of Human Resource Department of the board, on Thursday in Kaduna.
He assured that the problem would soon be rectified, adding that the First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has successfully paid teachers in five local government areas of the state.
Sani listed the LGAs whose teachers received payment of their salaries to include Ikara, Igabi, Jaba, Kauru and Sanga.
“The delay is attributed to severe network challenges that all banks are facing as a result of a deluge of online transfers, occasioned by the Naira redesign policy.
“Salaries of teachers in 14 LGAs are pending on the bank’s platform, they include Kaduna North, Makarfi, Soba, Zaria, Chikun, Giwa and Kajuru.
“Others are Kubau; Lere, Sabon Gari, Kaduna South, Jema’a, Zangon Kataf and Kudan.
“The bank has isolated all the outstanding salary payments and they are being treated manually for them to be closed without further delay,’’ he said.
According to Sani, the bank is doing everything possible to ensure speedy payment, adding that relevant updates would be provided as soon as the situation improves.
He, however, said that Kaura, Kachia, Kagarko and Burnin Gwari are yet to send their staff salaries to the board. ’(NAN)
