Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong said he met President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House with six other northern governors to discuss the raging insecurity in their states.
He said this in an interview with journalists after the meeting with Buhari.
Other governors that attended the meeting are Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Muhammad Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (Sokoto), Abubakar Sani Bello (Niger), and Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa).
“Well, this meeting was in respect of some of the common features of insecurity that we have within our states. You’ll recall that many of the states have some of the insecurity that are very similar. So, we put them together and see how to address some of those issues. And we felt that we must also meet Mr. President about it,” Lalong said.
“But the take away is that the meeting with the president was very fruitful, and we are also very committed, and we have seen a lot of commitment. So, we are waiting for implementation.
