The Sokoto State government on Wednesday said it was solemnly behind the demands of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) for a better living condition in the country.
Governor Ahmed Aliyu gave the assurance while receiving NLC’s members who staged a peaceful demonstration against some of the policies of the federal government.
“The course you are pursuing is for the good of every Nigerian.
“As a listening government, I assure you we will do everything possible to ensure your yearnings and aspirations come to reality.
” We are with you on this very important cause that will better the life of Nigerians,” the Governor who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Aminu Dikko
Earlier, the state chairman of NLC, Comrade Abdullahi Aliyu appealed to the federal government to reverse the removal of fuel subsidy because of the untold hardship it created in the country.
