The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has declared that security agencies are making significant progress in locating the kidnapped Kebbi schoolgirls.
The Minister told reporters in Birnin Kebbi the state capital that “The intelligence we have shows that we are almost close to those children.”
He told Governor Nasir Idris of the state that the FG is fully ready to work with the state to rescue and bring the girls back home safely and reunite them with their families soon.
It would be recalled that 26 female students were kidnapped from the Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga on Monday, November 17, during an attack by bandits.
In response to this disturbing incident, President Bola Tinubu has directed Matawalle to travel to Kebbi State to oversee the rescue operations.
