The House of Representatives on Wednesday decided to throw away a controversial bill that seeks to move the National Minimum Wage from the exclusive to concurrent list.
Nigerian workers led by the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria across the federation stormed the National Assembly and the states Houses of Assembly demanding the lawmakers to stop further action that would lead to the removal of the wage bill from the exclusive list.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, promised the protesting workers on Wednesday that the House will stop further action on the bill being sponsored by two legislators from Kaduna State – Garba Mohammed Datti and Tajuddeen Abbas all of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
