The Kwankkwasiyya faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Wednesday said it is not participating in the Saturday local government elections in Kano State because of a pending litigation filed against the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSEIC) over the polls.
Chairman of the faction, Shehu Sagagi, who addressed journalists in Kano said the Chairman of the KANSEIC, Professor Garba Ibrahim Sheka, was acting in contempt of court by saying the opposision party has filled candidates for the elections.
The Kwankwasiyya group said it does not recognize the other group participating in the election.
