The Department of State Security Service (DSS) says on Saturday that it did not arrest the sacked media aide of Governor Umaru Abdullahi Ganduje, Salihu Tanko-Yakasai.
Ganduje relieved Yakassai of his job over his criticism of President Muhammadu Buhari in the wake of schoolgirls’ abduction in Zamfara State.
The Kano State Director of DSS, Muhammad Alhassan, said there was no time the organisation invited the media aide, let alone arrest.
Mr Alhassan said Yakasai is a friend to the organisation, adding “sometimes he advises us on issues of security in Kano.”
