The Kaduna State Government has given reason for the Wednesday night raid of the residence of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi and evacuation of his students by security operatives.
The chairman of the Kaduna State Transport and Environment Commission (KASTELEA), Garba Yahaya Rimi, said the operation was one of the first steps taken to curb the spread of coronavirus in the state.
Rimi who is also the chairman of the state’s Cholera/coronavirus control committee, confirmed that a total number of 140 students were evacuated to Kaduna State Hajj Camp.
He said some students were from neigbouring countries, particular from Republic Niger and Republic of Chad; adding that the state government would hand over the students to their states of origin, while the foreigners would be handed over to the Nigeria Immigration Service, once it completes its screening.
