Prof. Ato Essuman has been elected by the Governing Board of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the Chairman of the sub-regional organisation.
A statement by WAEC of Head of Public Affairs in Ghana, Abiodun Aduloju, said Essuman, a Ghanaian, emerged 20th chairman from the 69th Annual Meeting of the Governing Board.
He succeeded Baboucarr Bouy from the Gambia, who was elected in March 2018.
Essuman’s tenure is for a period of three years in line with the council’s regulations.
