Benue Queens volleyball club of Makurdi, on Monday, defeated Kada Queens of Kaduna 3-0 to record their third win at the ongoing 2024 Comptroller General of Customs Volleyball Premier League in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Benue Queens won the first set 25-18, second 25-22 and the third 25-20 after a scintillating performance.
Speaking after the match, the coach of Benue Queens, Jessica Euguwa, attributed the hard-earned victory to adequate preparation by her team.
“The girls were well prepared for the competition and they were determined to win this match.
“This is our sixth match now, we won three and we lost three. I will continue to encourage the girls to be serious in their remaining matches.
“Even though we won this match, we discovered some lapses that we must correct before our next match,” she said
The league is organised by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in conjunction with the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF).
NAN reports that 24 teams comprising 12 male and 12 female are participating in the League.
The first phase of the League which started on August 26 is expected to end on September 10 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.
