The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has issued the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) a five-working-day disconnection notice over non-compliance with the provisions of the Market Rules.
This is according to a disconnection notice signed on Friday by TCN’s Market Operator, Ali Ahmad.
States under the AEDC coverage comprising Abuja, Nasarawa, Niger, and Kogi will be plunged into darkness if this happens.
TCN stated that the proposed disconnection date is July 28, and that the disconnection will be done at the 33kV feeder from the 132/33kV Katampe 1 Transmission Station and Feeder 3 from the 132/33kV Central Area Transmission Station.
“The defaulting Market Participant, AEDC, has been duly notified of their infractions concerning non-compliance with Section 15.3.3.a of the Market Rules,” the statement indicated.
TCN said AEDC has a deadline of five (5) business days from the date to remedy its Market Rules infractions.
