Some angry youths in Tangaza local government area of Sokoto State have set ablaze six suspected bandits involved in an attack that took place on Friday.
A security source told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that the bandits were apprehended by security forces with the help of some local vigilantes in the area.
He said bandits attacked the community on Friday, killing two people and abducting four children.
The source said after the attack, angry youths chased the bandits, while the police were planning to transport the suspects to the command headquarters, overpowered the police and forcefully snatched the suspects from the security personnel.
“They burn them in the nearby bushes,” he said.
Spokesperson of the state Police Command, Sanusi Abubakar, confirmed the incident, but refused to give further explanation.
