Six Fulani herders, comprising four young men and two women, were murdered in Taraba State, the police said Wednesday.
Spokesperson of the command, ASP Abdullahi Usman, told journalists that four young men and two women were murdered in a reprisal attack.
The herders were killed in an attack at Mungadoso village in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of the state on Monday, he said.
Mr Usman said some persons attacked a Fulani settlement in the area when they found corpse of a man who went missing in the village two days before the incident.
He said the villagers had blamed the herders for the man’s death.
The police said four other people were missing after the attack.
