Eleven bandits have been killed and many others, including a personnel of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested after a fierce battle with a group of vigilantes in Koton Karfe local government area of Kogi State.
The bandits had on Friday, attempted to abduct some residents in a village but were engaged in a battle by the vigilantes.
Spokesperson to Kogi State Governor, Mohammed Onogwu, disclosed this on Sunday at a press conference in Lagos.
He said the NSCDC personnel identified as Inspector Abdulahi Saidu and his friends were alleged to have supplied the bandits with weapons and information for their operations.
Onogwu said security agents are on the trail of kidnappers who attacked and killed some worshipers in Kabba area of the state on Sunday.
