The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Adamu Muhammed, on Tuesday ordered operatives to use maximum force to deal with the Monday attackers of the Imo state Police Command and the correctional centre.
The IGP said this on Tuesday after inspecting the extent of damage at the state’s police command and the custodial centre.
Mohammed who insisted that members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were responsible for the attacks, said the Police would go after them and fish them out wherever they hide.
He said, “Whether in their homes and forest, we are determined to fish them out. I have instructed my men to use maximum force with the guns available to us.
“We have the authority to defend the country, which they don’t have. We will not allow these criminals to succeed,” he added.
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, said the attack was aimed at instilling fear in the people and made them vulnerable.
He assured Imo people that his government is doing everything possible to ensure that the dastardly incident never repeats itself.
