Boko Haram terrorists have withdrawn from Dikwa, a town 90 kilometers from Maiduguri the state capital, hours after taking control.
The terrorists took control of Dikwa Monday night after they overran the troops who had earlier repelled them on Monday evening.
Sources Dikwa the terrorists came with over 20 gun trucks mounted with anti-aircraft guns to overpower troops.
Reports said the terrorists pulled out of Dikwa before the arrival of the troops around 11:45.
Military sources had earlier said troops had reinforced to retake the town.
