President Bola Tinubu has appointed three Nigerians as ambassador-nominees.
The president revealed this in a letter sent to the Senate on Wednesday for confirmation.
A statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga on Wednesday, the nominees would be posted to the United States, the United Kingdom, and France.
The letter was read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during the plenary.
The nominees are Kayode Are from Ogun State, Aminu Dalhatu from Jigawa and Ayodele Oke.
Akapbio said, “The list contains three names for now; I am sure others will follow.”
Mr Tinubu didn’t appoint ambassadors after recalling them in 2023.

AMBASSADOR AYODELE OKE

Ambassador Ayo Oke is the former Director General of Nigeria’s National Intelligence Agency (NIA).
He hails from Oyo state.
He was appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan on 7 November 2013.
In April 2017, Mr Oke was suspended by President Muhammadu Buhari after anti-corruption officers from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission found more than US$43 million (£34m) in an apartment at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos.
On 30 October, Amb. Oke was finally dismissed by President Buhari after consideration of the report of the investigative committee headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Before he left office on May 29, President Buhari reportedly cleared Mr Oke of the allegations of corruption levelled against him.
COLONEL KAYODE ARE (retd)

Mr Kayode Are is a retired Nigerian Army Colonel who was Director General of the Nigerian Department of State Service (DSS) from 1999 to 2007.
He hails from Ogun state.
He briefly served as the National Security Adviser in 2010.
He also served as an officer in the Directorate of Military Intelligence up until his retirement by General Sani Abacha.
AMBASSADOR AMIN DALHATU

Aminu Muhammadu Dalhatu hails from Jigawa State.
He was Nigerian ambassador to South Korea from 2017 to 2020.
He is reputable businessman and diplomat.
